Facebook Contest/Interactive game
Every can that is collected will be recycled, and can be recycled infinitely, with no loss of quality. That’s why “recycling knows no hurdles”. To communicate their message across Europe, Every Can Counts, a programme that aims to make it easier to recycle your drink cans – founded by BCME , European Aluminium and Alupro- tasked UCME and Point Blank with creating an engaging social media campaign that would run simultaneously in the nine countries that the programme is currently operating.
Our answer? We created a social game: #OlympiCan, the recycling champion! Collecting beverages cans in a hurdle race allows users not only become more familiar with beverage can recycling but also have fun while playing a summer sports game on Facebook
Combining interactive technologies and creative storytelling with social media, we built a gaming experience around a Facebook contest that is fully accessible app via desktop, tablet or mobile. The custom game application provides two levels, national and European. Players are encouraged to recycle as many cans as they can for the chance to win awesome prizes, including a bicycle made out of recycled aluminium cans.
To generate more social buzz, we created optimized content and artwork -translated and posted in each country’s Facebook Page during the campaign.
